Data and forecasting work

Service 02 — Forecasting Model Implementation

Planning decisions grounded in what your own data actually shows.

Ten weeks. A demand or workload forecasting model built from your historical records, validated against periods your team remembers, and handed over with full documentation for internal maintenance.

What This Delivers

A forecasting tool your team can actually use — and maintain.

The Promise

At the end of ten weeks, you will have a working forecasting model trained on your own historical records and integrated into the planning routine your organisation already uses. Not a separate system that sits alongside your work — something that fits into how decisions are currently made.

The handover includes full documentation: how the model was built, what assumptions sit behind it, and the steps your internal staff need to follow when it is time to update or retrain it. You will not need to call us to keep it running.

We also report the model's forecast error honestly, comparing it against your existing method. If the model does not outperform what you are currently doing, you will know that — and why.

Built on Your Data

The model is trained on your own historical records, not generic patterns or industry benchmarks that may not reflect how your operation actually runs.

Honest Validation

Forecast accuracy is tested against periods your team remembers and can evaluate. The error figures are reported as they are, not selected to look favourable.

Full Handover

Documentation covers operation, retraining, and what to watch for when the model's accuracy begins to drift. You leave with enough to maintain it independently.

The Situation

Planning on experience when the data is sitting there unused.

What we hear

Most organisations with three or more years of operational history are sitting on records that could inform planning decisions more precisely than experience and intuition alone. The data exists. What is missing is a structured way to use it — something that fits into the rhythm of how planning actually happens in the business.

The tension

Off-the-shelf forecasting tools are often either too generic to be useful or too complex to integrate with how the organisation actually works. Custom-built tools from external vendors tend to create a dependency — the organisation cannot maintain or update them without going back to whoever built them, which adds ongoing cost and friction.

What holds back

For firms with sufficient historical data, the main obstacle is usually not access to forecasting techniques. It is finding an approach that starts from your actual records, is validated against your real operating history, and ends with something your team can run without outside help. That is what this engagement is structured to deliver.

Our Approach

What the implementation actually involves.

Stage What Happens
Data preparation We examine your historical records, identify gaps and format inconsistencies, and prepare a clean dataset suitable for modelling. This stage determines what the model can reasonably be asked to do.
Model selection We test several candidate approaches against your data and select the one that performs best on your specific patterns — not the one that is most technically interesting or most commonly used elsewhere.
Validation The model is tested against held-back periods from your own data — periods your team can look at and assess whether the forecasts would have been useful. Accuracy figures are compared with your existing method.
Integration The model is connected to the planning routine already in use. We do not ask you to change how you plan — we fit the forecasting output into the decision points that already exist.
Handover Full documentation is delivered with the model. This includes operating instructions, a retraining guide, and notes on the conditions under which the model's accuracy is likely to degrade.
What Makes This Different

We design the engagement so that when it ends, you are not dependent on us. The documentation is written for internal staff who were not involved in building the model. The retraining steps are written as plain instructions, not technical specifications. Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary as quickly as possible.

What Working Together Looks Like

Ten weeks, with clear checkpoints.

W1–2
Data Review

We begin by reviewing your historical records in their current form. We identify what is usable, what needs cleaning, and whether there are gaps significant enough to affect what the model can reliably do. You receive a brief written note on what we found and what we plan to do with it.

W3–5
Build & Test

We prepare the data and run candidate models. This is mostly technical work on our side, with limited demands on your time. We keep you informed of where things stand at the end of each week without asking you to review intermediate technical outputs that would not be meaningful at this stage.

W6–8
Validation

We test the selected model against held-back periods and share the results with you in a form your team can evaluate. We ask for your view on whether the forecast outputs look plausible to people who know the operation. This is where your knowledge of the business matters most.

W9–10
Integration & Handover

We connect the model to your existing planning workflow and deliver the full handover documentation. The final session is a walkthrough with the internal staff who will operate it — not a presentation, but a working session where questions are expected and answered directly.

Investment

One fixed fee for the full ten-week engagement.

Pricing

¥44,000

Fixed Fee — JPY

This covers the complete ten-week engagement: data review and preparation, model build and selection, validation against held-back periods, integration into your planning routine, and full handover documentation with a walkthrough session.

There are no charges for the follow-up questions that come up during and immediately after the handover period. If validation reveals that the model does not outperform your current approach, we report that finding and discuss what the options are before any integration work begins.

What Is Included

Review and preparation of your historical records for modelling use

Selection and build of the forecasting model best suited to your data patterns

Validation against held-back periods with honest reporting of forecast error

Comparison of model accuracy against your existing planning method

Integration into the planning routine already in use at your organisation

Full handover documentation and staff walkthrough session on operation and retraining

How We Work

What makes a forecasting model worth having.

The Requirement

This engagement requires at least three years of consistent historical records in a format that can be read and cleaned. Gaps in the data, significant format changes mid-record, or records that only exist on paper all affect what is achievable. We assess this during the initial data review and tell you what is feasible before the modelling work begins.

Accuracy

Forecast accuracy is measured and reported honestly. We use standard error metrics and compare them against the baseline your organisation currently uses. If the model does not improve on that baseline in a meaningful way, we discuss the finding with you rather than proceeding to integration.

Timeline

Ten weeks reflects the time needed to do this properly: data preparation done carefully, model selection tested against alternatives, validation conducted against multiple held-back periods, and handover documentation written clearly enough for staff who were not involved in the build. Shortcuts in any of these stages produce a tool that fails earlier and more expensively.

Our Commitment

What you can expect throughout.

Transparent Findings

If the data review reveals that your records are not in a condition suitable for the model we discussed, we will tell you that at the end of week two — before any modelling work begins. If validation shows the model underperforms, that finding is reported as a finding, not buried in caveats.

No Lasting Dependency

The handover documentation is designed so that your team can operate, update, and retrain the model without returning to us. If questions come up in the weeks immediately following handover, we remain available without additional charge. After that, the model is yours to run.

Before You Commit

The initial conversation before we confirm an engagement is without charge and without obligation. We use it to understand what data you have, what planning decisions you are trying to improve, and whether the engagement is the right fit for your situation. If it is not, we will say so.

Next Steps

How to get started.

01
Write to Us

Use the contact form on the home page. A brief description of your situation is enough — what planning decisions you are trying to improve, and a rough sense of how much historical data you hold. We will take it from there.

02
Data Conversation

We respond within two working days and arrange an initial conversation to understand what data you have, what format it is in, and whether the engagement is suited to your situation. This conversation is without charge.

03
Confirm & Begin

If we proceed, scope and start date are confirmed in writing. The engagement begins with data collection in week one. You will have a clear picture of what is happening at each stage of the ten weeks.

04
Handover

At week ten, you receive the working model, the full documentation, and a walkthrough with the people who will operate it. What you do with it from that point is yours to decide, with no pressure from our side about what comes next.

Forecasting Model Implementation

Your historical data can inform better planning decisions than it currently does.

A conversation about your situation and your data is the right place to start. There is no charge for that conversation and no obligation to proceed with the engagement.

Process Suitability Assessment

A three-week engagement that examines your candidate processes and reports which suit automated handling — and which do not, with reasons stated plainly. A useful starting point for organisations under pressure to adopt tools without a clear direction.
